Cooking with the Stars

Last weekend we went to our friends' Lido Venucchi and Anna Morelli Anteprima Vini della Costa Toscana event at Real Collegio. There was a team of chefs behind that white partition cooking up a storm. It was really beautiful to hear the Michelin star chef Viviana Varese of the Restaurant Alice in Milano explain her secrets including a butter made with red wine, a pesto oil -- the luscious, green blanket coating the bowl with perfectly al dente spaghetti in the center on the video screen -- which retains its color thanks to a little ice. and. of course, the perfect wine paring. We had to avoid eating the fish since we are vegetarians, but F heroically drank my wine and his so that we could sample both offerings of the afternoon.
