A big welcome to the world to Soha!
My friends Bob and Deena had a baby! In trying to figure out what was appropriate for such a day, I was clicking through my ipod, which is overall, I notice, much more loaded with songs quite gloomy and inappropriate. But eventually I figured out that the song I had picked out with Rami on the train home from the Food Van last night is the right one to celebrate a joyous birth. This is Kiran Ahluwalia singing "Saaquiya" which is a Ghazal, a Punjabi sacred love poem, a song form that came from Persia to the Punjab seven hundred years ago.

Saaquiya

Kiran Ahluwalia has a number of songs on her website.
Two videos at YouTube.
