New Young Pony Club
Teaming angry/affectless vocals with surprisingly complex instrumentation, New Young Pony Club is either from London or Brooklyn--they say London, reviews say NYC. Primarily vocalist Tahita Bulmer and Andy Spence on everything else, plus various other people when they play live, NYPC gets compared to Debby Harry and Blondie, though I think a more apt comparison would be Debora Iyall and Romeo Void (probably only Ashkan or Thom will know who that is.) It also reminds me a lot of Dear Nora, whose cover of Missy Elliot's "Hot Boyz" was SOD a while back.
