Golden Smog
Another request. Named after the phenomenon that occurs when a group of drunk blond people from the Midwest get on your subway car and talk really way too loud (actually a Mel Tormé-ish character from the Flintstones,) Golden Smog is a non-Canadian supergroup from Minneapolis. Made up of members of Soul Asylum, the Jayhawks, Wilco, and Run Westy Run, they started out fifteen years ago playing covers of bands like the Eagles, the Bangles, and the Rolling Stones and they have very much a bar/cover band feel. They have just released a new record Another Fine Day. This is a live version of "Gone" from Minneapolis Public Radio that is quite a bit prettier than most of their songs.
