Fight the real enemy
It's slightly cheating because it's not really off vinyl, but since Liz didn't know "Fire on Babylon," I had to put this up today. Fantastically talented, but perhaps endlessly abrasive, Sinéad O'Connor has made a great deal of music since her cover of Prince's "Nothing Compares 2 U," much of it quite excellent, but all has paled in comparison to tearing up a picture of the Pope on SNL and her public spat with Old Blue Eyes over the playing of the National Anthem in New Jersey. Liz reminded me of how excellent Faith and Courage is, as is Universal Mother, as are her first several albums, as probably are her latest several (which I haven't listened to yet, but now am growing curious, thanks to my own persuasive power.)
